3 Mistakes of a Writer

1) NOT BELIEVING IN YOURSELF

Sometimes, all you just need to do is to have guts to say that you can do it. There are a lot of writers I've met wherein they just got tired and do not want to write anymore because they think, no one wants to read their stories.

Every great writers come from doing step one, which is believing in themselves. Let's take a look at J.K Rowling for example: Her story (Harry Potter Series) got rejected multiple times by different publishers, but she never quit. She believed in herself and her stories. Until one day, one publisher decided to give it a try. And the rest is history.

Sometimes (Or a lot of times, rather), people won't believe in you. Even the closest to you won't believe that you have talent for it. But whatever happens, you need to believe in yourself and have the courage to go the extra mile as you are the one who is sailing your own boat, not them.

2) THINKING THAT HAVING YOUR BOOK PUBLISHED IS THE FINISH LINE

A lot of writers wants to have their stories published  by publishing companies. There is this kind of thinking that if you really want  to be a certified writer, you need to be an author. You need to have a book published by one of the giants.

I've been an online writer and a book author already and to be honest with you, I cannot see the difference between the two. At the end of the day, whether I write online or not, I am still a writer. Being a published writer is definitely one of my bucket list but that is my main goal. My goal is to write stories that will inspire and make readers think.

As you read this article, ask yourself: What is your goal in being a writer? What is the main reason why you write? What are the things you want to leave ? What kind of writer are you?

3) NOT CONNECTING WITH YOUR READERS

There are a lot of writers nowadays who are not connecting with their readers. A simple 'Hi' or 'Hello' can go a long way! Creating good engagements is really important if you want to get more readers. A lot of successful people I know does have huge fan base because they have readers supporting them.

Readers do not expect anything in return. They just need to feel that they belong. Take the time to create wonderful memories with them. Love them as they love you.
